KA: Interior design and architecture became the main business of my life. Since my young years I was fascinated by design and everything connected with it. I studied this art in St. Petersburg, the world capital of the palatial luxury. And Luxury Antonovich Design Studio opening became an expected event that happened in 2002. Today, the head office of the company is located in Dubai. And we are happy to provide our services all over the world.

KA: My design philosophy is to give customers a feeling of an absolute comfort. At every stage of interiors creation, I make the world more beautiful. Each design project is special for me. I am completely immersed in dreams of customers, to create something special for them, something exceptional, their perfect world of happiness. My boundless love to my work is the basis of the exceptional and beautiful design. The result is a luxury with intellectual overtones, which touches the most discerning connoisseurs of the luxury world. I try to create the design, which  is synonymous with an elegance, an exceptional attention to customers wishes, as well as attention to details of the highest quality materials. My works influence people’s attitude. To achieve a perfect embodiment of my ideas, I constantly learn new production and construction technologies, experimenting with new textures and materials. All these in order to predict desires of our customers and to fulfill the most important wish, i.e. to be different from others.
OTSM: As a designer, where do you draw your inspiration from?
KA: I find inspiration in many things. The sea breeze is luxurious, as well as rustling of leaves in a spring garden and the blue sky with white clouds… An inexhaustible source of inspiration is also travelling. Old European buildings and delightful modern buildings of big cities give many fresh ideas. And each work, I really try to make a fairy tale for a customer.
OTSM: How would you describe your design style? How varied are your designs? Do you have a signature touch with your designs?
KA: The style I work in is a great improvisation with such fashion styles as classic, art deco and modern, which are all about the uniqueness of forms, rich decorations, rich colours and a perfect harmony. This is the design, which is ahead of its time and sets new trends, which will be fashionable in a few years and they may be given new names too. And now my customers have a unique opportunity to get the luxury, which represents the flight in the future.

OTSM: What are your latest and upcoming projects?
KA: In recent years, the main direction of our studio is the creation of luxury villa projects worldwide. We are proud that our projects became sources of pride for customers from the UAE, Qatar, Sudan, India and other Asian countries, as well as Europe and the United States. And now our studio is working on the luxury villas in Nairobi, Abuja, Dubai, Sharjah and Doha. All these projects include architectural design, interior design and landscape design.

KA: I consider design as a very capacious concept. Each work is created of unique puzzles and in a single picture. They are floor design, ceiling decor, furniture, curtains, landscaping, construction and other important points. At the forefront, there are unusual art solutions and materials, as well as the technological complexity of execution. I am interested in various fields in all directions, from creating of unique pieces of furniture and decor, to ambitious projects of villas and palaces.
OTSM: What is the most frustrating aspect of your job as a designer? And the most rewarding one?
KA: In every work, there are some nuances and complexities. Especially when it comes to large-scale projects such as the design and construction of luxury villas. But I can’t say that there is disappointment in my work. This is just a new experience, which raises the bar of my professionalism to new heights.
OTSM: What are your favorite materials to work with?
KA: Today the choice of materials and textures opens up virtually unlimited space for creativity. Of course, I like marble, natural wood and luxurious fabrics a lot. After all, the possibilities of new technologies help to implement the most daring ideas with these materials. I love to improvise with different materials and textures, use non-standard techniques. My clients receive the exclusive design. The design, which they can not get anywhere. This is a special feature of my work, i.e. to provide a truly unique design.

OTSM: Who or what is your biggest inspiration?
KA: I am inspired by my customers. And by their dreams about their perfect home. This is where a unique interior story begins, which I tell in each project. And a wonderful source of inspiration is the worldwide exhibitions and conversations with my colleagues, partners and people of art.
OTSM: What advice do you have for young designers or architects reading this interview?
KA: My main advice is be bold in your plans and dreams. Do not be afraid to experiment and improvise with styles. And, of course, love your work. After all, without it you can’t create something really unique and beautiful.

OTSM: Where do you like to hang out in your spare time when you’re switching off and relaxing?
KA: In order to relax and get away from work, refresh my mind and get some new impressions, I love to travel. If I am at home,  I play golf or go horse riding. Books, travelling, outdoor recreation, all these fill my life  with beautiful moments. And I love different things and bold experiments. Recently I have tried extreme driving and there are a lot of plans now. It is important sometimes to disconnect from your everyday life and immerse yourself in your own world, which lives only by your own rules.
