Snoop Dogg, Sade, Gloria Estefan, Patti Smith and More Were Nominated for Songwriters Hall of Fame 2023.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame has announced its roster of 2023 nominees, with artists including Snoop Dogg, Patti Smith, R.E.M., Sade, Gloria Estefan, ELO frontman Jeff Lynne, Bryan Adams, Steve Winwood, the Broadway team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty and more up for the honorary title. The slate will be voted on for induction at the 54th Annual Induction & Awards Gala on June 15, 2023, in New York City.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame recognizes the lives and catalogs of notable composers and lyricists across the globe. In order to qualify, a songwriter’s first significant commercial track must have been released 20 years prior to induction. Eligible voters will need to cast their ballots by 12 p.m. ET on December 28, 2022, with three choices in both the songwriter and performing songwriter categories. If selected, the artist would join hip-hop legends JAY-Z, Missy Elliot, Pharrell and Jermaine Dupri in the Hall of Fame.
