Hi Elise, Please fully tell us about yourself and your background.
I’ve lived in NY since the start of 2020 and worked in the city prior. I went to college at Columbia College Chicago and studied fashion merchandising and marketing. I have modeled since I was 15 when I grew up in Iowa beginning with local grocery and department stores. I really enjoyed dance, school, and cheerleading growing up. Since moving to NY I have worked in modeling, bridal, and real estate. The city has so much to explore.
How and when did you discover you had a passion for modeling?
I began my passion for modeling through dance. I began with dance photoshoots and won a photogenic award in dance and quickly transitioned to a local talent agency in my hometown. In college, I was represented by a different agency, and then now in NY, I am represented by True Model Management.
In your own words please describe your style as a model?
My style is very colorful and preppy and models an off-duty feel. I love bright colors or jewel tones and I also love classic silhouettes. I reach for active sets in the Summer most often or a flowy dress. Through the fall and winter, I love fun jackets and bright sweaters. I like pieces that transition well from work to going out. I don’t like wearing black. I would prefer to wear monochrome color or all white.

Do you remember your first experience in front of the Camera?
Yes, I do. It was when I was 4 years of age. It was a mall photo shoot similar to a glamour shoot but with more angelic headshots.
How big a role does modeling play in your life?
Modeling has played a large role in my life. I’ve met many of my closest friends through modeling, including my husband. I identify with modeling on my social media platforms. Modeling has given me the freedom to create my own business and understand business relationships.
Who or what is your biggest motivation in life?
My largest motivation in life is my personal written goals. I love to work towards my goals from career to fitness.
What advice would you offer to other aspiring models who wish to set their own style and not be like everyone else?
Modeling is 100% about representation. You must sign with an ethical agency that will represent you correctly. You must treat modeling like a business and invest in your portfolio to reflect the work you want to have. You must be in the correct location where modeling is a career option, not just a fun thing to be a part of.

If you could change one thing about the fashion and modeling industry, what would it be? What would you improve?
I would improve photography standards. I believe photographers should be licensed by a union or state agency to control sexual predators in the photography industry.
What is the most challenging part of being a model?
Fitness! No matter what size you model for, it's difficult to keep your measurements stable because our bodies naturally change and evolve.
What are some of the biggest hurdles you have faced as a model and how did you overcome them?
Consistency! Since modeling full-time was difficult during COVID, it was difficult to balance both full-time salary positions with modeling. Modeling work lacks stability, and your income will always vary based on what clients you book and what invoices are outstanding, as with any small business.
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?
I always want to better myself. I would progress my social initiatives and put more effort into connecting with brands online for influencer outreach and projects.
What characteristics about you personally set you apart from others?
I make an effort to think positively every day. I'm very social and goal-oriented. I strive to get to know everyone and am quite outgoing.
I also communicate effectively on set. Despite the uniqueness of my physical traits, I think what matters most is how you make other people feel.

What’s your most memorable shoot?
I was signed in New York before permanently relocating there, and I booked a job with American Eagle so I could go to their head office and shoot e-comm for a day.
What do you consider your biggest professional success so far?
I think it would have to be the last 2 years. I’ve worked and booked with large clients and great clients. Working on a TV show was a great experience as well as booking many beauty jobs.
Becoming a model really introduces one major condition into your life which is “Consistency”, Do you think this theory is accurate or not?
No!. Modeling is not consistent. Clients only need you for some shoots because they can't use the same models for every shoot as they have to show diversity in their brand. If you are a working model you are always traveling or going to new places to work, unlike an office job.
Is there any brand you would love to model for?
I would love to model for Kate Spade!

"Women Empowerment" - What does this word mean to you? And how does it help women?
Women empowerment is celebrating other women's successes In any line of work, there is always a lot of competition, so it's important to support other women and lift each other up. Misogyny separates women and pits them against one another. As women, it is important that we unlearn these traits and empower one another to reach our full potential.
How do you empower females through your work?
I always say kind words and affirm their choices, celebrate their wins, and support their struggles.
How do you build good working relationships with other models?
When I meet them I start conversations then we connect on Instagram and continue our relationship.
Any latest or upcoming project?
I recently worked on a beauty commercial for ULTA with living-proof hair for their new triple bond serum.

What was the most surreal moment you ever experienced during a photoshoot?
At the beginning of my modeling career, I did an outdoor shoot during a blizzard in Chicago.
What are you doing when you are not working?
Working in real estate, working out, organizing, spending time with my husband and friends
What is your beauty regimen and how do you stay in shape?
I take Pilates, walking, dance cardio, and yoga at the equinox. I try to do something active daily which is easy to do in New York especially since we walk everywhere.
I always wash my face every morning and evening using my favorite cleanser and day moisturizer. In the evening I use an Estee Lauder overnight serum and night moisturzer. I don’t wear many face products day to day and always include supplements in my daily routine. Overall health is the key component of beauty. I invest in a great gym, and great health care and I make sure to keep my routine simple. Gut health, lifestyle habits, and other health conditions are the root cause of many issues that can’t be fixed by a shampoo or skin care product. I recommend quality over quantity. Also, note makeup has an expiration date expired products are also unsafe to use.
Wow, Amazing tips Elise. Any last words you’d like to add?
I’m so happy that I began modeling in a digital age where more visual representation is needed all around. There is more work for models and more to model for outside of standard print, runway, and editorial work. I love that modeling has a lot of freedom for self-branding whether you also love styling, makeup, or health you can have separate content and dedicate time to your peak interests.
