Rumche Fall/Winter 2025-2026: A Tapestry of Memories
For Fall/Winter 2025-2026, Rumche unveils a deeply personal collection, woven from the cherished moments of designer Rumi Yasuhara’s life. Inspired by the quiet poetry of everyday experiences—horseback rides across the sweeping landscapes of Hokkaido, acorn and seashell collecting with her children, the fleeting beauty of ladybugs, flowers basking in the sunlight, and the celestial expanse of a glamping night—the collection transforms nostalgia into wearable art.
Captured through the lens of Masami Naruo, the lookbook features models Weiyi Fang and Victoria Arroyo, styled by Ayaka Endo, with ethereal makeup by Nobuko Maekawa and hair artistry by Tsubasa. The imagery evokes a dreamlike reverie, seamlessly merging the collection’s delicate craftsmanship with its poetic storytelling.
This season, Yasuhara shifts from last season’s cosmic inspiration to something closer to home: the delicate beauty of lived memories. A knit vest immortalizes her daughter on horseback, while embroidered shirts feature hand-sketched renderings of Copenhagen’s storied architecture crafted by skilled artisans in India. Whimsical nature motifs—acorns, seashells, flowers, and stars—come to life through intricate embroidery on structured shirts, fluid dresses, and tailored trousers, capturing the essence of fleeting wonder.
At the heart of the collection is Rumche’s signature “Chain Flower” print, reinterpreted through hand-drawn strokes and Kyoto’s revered dyeing techniques. The motif blooms across cascading skirts, fluid trousers, and voluminous dresses, creating a striking interplay of color and texture. Abstract sunlight-inspired paintings add another layer of artistic depth, infusing the collection with movement and warmth.
Knitwear remains a focal point, where the “Chain Flower” motif transforms into rope-like embellishments, lending a tactile richness to sweaters and outerwear. Tiered dresses and asymmetric blouses feature delicate “petal gathers,” mirroring the organic elegance of nature. Meanwhile, subtle embroidered accents emerge like hidden drawings, waiting to be discovered—each detail a quiet whisper of sentiment and storytelling.
Layering plays a key role in the collection’s styling, with sheer high-neck tops adding dimension and accessories—chokers, keychains, and textile adornments—echoing the tactile intricacies of the “Chain Flower” technique. These thoughtfully placed elements invite wearers to personalize their ensembles, blending memory with modernity.
More than a collection, Rumche Fall/Winter 2025-2026 is an ode to the beauty found in everyday moments—a testament to the brand’s ability to translate emotion into fabric, craft into poetry, and nostalgia into a new kind of luxury.
