For Resort 2026, Adrian Appiolaza continues to carve his own exuberant path at Moschino, weaving surreal fantasy with market-savvy flair in a collection that feels like a technicolor road trip through the absurd. Still fresh in his role as creative director, Appiolaza doesn’t mimic Franco Moschino’s legacy—he channels its mischievous soul, reinterpreting the house’s playful rebellion for a new generation with intelligence, charm, and irreverent joy.

This season’s lookbook unfolds as a whimsical cross-country travelogue, shot by photographer Chris Rhodes. From the gaudy glow of Las Vegas to the wide expanse of the Grand Canyon, supermarket aisles, gym floors, and finally, a kitschy motel Christmas pool party, each scene plays host to transformations in wardrobe and attitude. The journey becomes a metaphor for Moschino’s enduring ability to blur fantasy and function, camp and commerce.

At its core, the collection toys with functionality—recasting sportswear, tailoring, and utility through an intentionally chaotic, genre-blurring lens. Boxy suiting is softened with cozy, casual fabrics; tailored trousers morph into track-pant hybrids with elasticated waistbands; and activewear staples acquire unlikely twists, offering fluid identities fit for both daydream and daily wear.

Appiolaza’s clever visual gags pay homage to Franco’s love of trompe l’oeil while carving out his own cheeky narrative. Trench coats come adorned with sleeves fashioned after Moschino’s iconic Tie Me Bag. Bikinis sprout unexpectedly from knitted turtlenecks. A handbag takes on the shape of a fish—quirky, odd, but undeniably delightful. These details are never gimmicky; they deliver precise, knowing winks that suggest fashion can entertain and provoke while remaining entirely wearable.
