Ziad Nakad FW25–26 Collection— KANZ: A Gilded Ode to Timeless Femininity
With the unveiling of his Fall Winter 2025–2026 Haute Couture collection, titled "KANZ"—the Arabic word for “treasure”—Ziad Nakad delivered a shimmering testament to eternal femininity, cultural richness, and heirloom splendor. Unfolding like a whispered tale from an ancient vault, the lookbook revealed gowns that felt less like garments and more like artifacts of grace, imbued with the aura of lost royalty and resurrected memory.
True to its name, KANZ unearthed treasures of craftsmanship, with each piece crafted as though excavated from the ruins of history. The dresses glittered with crystal constellations, embroidered florals, and ornamental brooches—each embellishment evoking the feeling of rediscovered relics passed down through generations. Nakad’s signature flair for embellishment was elevated to new, ethereal heights, turning couture into living mythology.
The designer’s hand was especially sure in his ability to balance structure and softness. Stately, sculpted bodices flowed into cascades of mousseline, plush velvet, and air-light tulle, all playing in symphony. These fabrics caught the light like moonlight on mosaic—quietly luminous, deliberately regal. The color story, too, read like a painter’s reverie: emerald, burgundy, dusky rose, and champagne gold, all woven into a visual tapestry that felt timeless and cinematic.
The presentation’s setting—a decaying Lebanese palace—deepened the emotional and visual resonance of the collection. Crumbling walls and gilded columns served as poetic metaphors: decay meets decadence, history meets modernity, and beauty rises from the bones of memory. It was storytelling through couture—evocative, immersive, unforgettable.
And then, the bridal finale. A vision of moonlit majesty, the final gown shimmered like light on ancient marble, encrusted with silvery threads and translucent crystals. It wasn’t just a wedding gown—it was a sacred closing note, a culmination of mystery, radiance, and reverence.
With KANZ, Ziad Nakad didn’t simply present a collection—he offered a legacy. A whispered ode to womanhood as treasure: storied, resilient, and luminous beyond time. In a season that often reaches toward the future, Nakad turned his gaze inward—to the relics, the myths, and the memories—and in doing so, reminded us that the past, when told through couture, is still rich with wonder.
