Oscar de la Renta Resort 2026: A Garden in Full Bloom
For the Resort 2026 season, Co-Creative Directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia cultivate a dreamlike world where fashion becomes flora, and garments transform into living, breathing gardens. Drawing inspiration from Kim’s personal connection to blooming landscapes, the collection is an ode to nature’s poetry—lush, tactile, and ever-evolving.
Florals are at the heart of this story, but here they are sculpted rather than simply imagined. Foxgloves appear across crisp cotton poplins and lace guipure, while cascading 3D appliqués, gilded leather leaves, and hand-crocheted knit dresses with delicate fringe bring the illusion of petals in motion. Each piece radiates the meticulous craftsmanship for which the house is celebrated.
Feathers, the second key motif, extend the theme of transformation and lightness. They surface in prints on silk twill jumpsuits and jersey dresses, as well as in distressed denim jacquards. Elsewhere, sequined threadwork and beading morph into vibrant plumes on cocktail gowns, evoking flight, fluidity, and fantasy.
Eveningwear emerges as the crown jewel of the collection. Sequined gowns in amber, mint, and sky blue glow with organza threadwork and feathered floral appliqués. Standouts include a strapless chiffon gown embroidered with mother-of-pearl and crystals, a capelet-and-skirt ensemble shimmering with botanical motifs, and a shift dress that doubles as jewelry through its trompe l’oeil beading.
Accessories complete the narrative with equal poetry. Jewelry adopts a garden’s vocabulary—golden bees, climbing ivy, and sculptural floral earrings—while handbags mirror the collection’s embellishment. The return of the wicker T.R.O. bag, this season in banana yellow, injects a playful practicality alongside richly embroidered evening clutches.
The palette unfurls like a painter’s canvas: ivory, antique rose, and sky blue softened like sunset light; apricot, lilac, pearl, and gold adding vibrancy and depth. Together, they balance romance with modernity, structure with delicacy.
With Resort 2026, Kim and Garcia reaffirm Oscar de la Renta’s ability to merge fantasy with craftsmanship. This is a collection where the garden is no mere inspiration—it is the muse, the medium, and the message. Each look embodies nature’s ephemeral beauty, transformed into timeless couture.
