16Arlington SS26 Collection: Surface, Sparkle, and Subversion
For Spring Summer 2026 at London Fashion Week, 16Arlington offered a lookbook that thrummed with irreverence and precision, a heady collision of glam, punk, and theatrical tailoring. Marco Capaldo built the collection from scribbled Post-its that distilled the mood into sharp traits: British irreverence, New York slickness, and Italian gloss. The result? A wardrobe of curated statement pieces designed for those unafraid of confidence, sparkle, and provocation.
Textures were layered with deliberate tension: zebra pony hide, sequined silk, embroidered tulle, and leather stacked against one another to create a sense of kinetic energy. Lozenge-shaped yellow paillettes and dangling crystal strands transformed surfaces into living, light-catching canvases, while marabou trims and feather flourishes punctuated looks with theatrical wit.
Hardware and manipulation functioned as key vocabulary. Studs tucked beneath cuffs, crystals dangling from carabiners as makeshift modesty panels, and lingerie-inspired lace trims cut against razor-sharp collars. Though maximalist in spirit, construction was tightly controlled; multi-material skirts and dresses retained clean lines, proving Capaldo’s eye for weight and balance.
References spanned decades without slipping into nostalgia: 1920s lingerie echoes, 1970s collars, and 1990s pencil skirts were collaged into single looks that read as playful remixes rather than costumes. Proportions heightened the drama but remained wearable: cinched waists and crisp tailoring anchored feather boas and crystal-studded sheers, grounding the exuberance in structure.
Color played as punctuation; optic whites and tonal neutrals set the stage for bursts of signature yellow, ensuring vibrancy without chaos. Movement was essential: crystals shimmered, fringes rustled, and surfaces practically sang, making the clothes feel alive in motion.
Accessories extended the story: studded leather scarves, oversized collars, and feather boas integrated seamlessly as narrative elements rather than styling afterthoughts. Footwear and minimal jewelry stayed understated, letting the garments’ sparkle, texture, and silhouette command full attention.
With Spring 2026, 16Arlington doubled down on its reputation for maximalist verve. It was a lookbook of rhythm and rebellion, couture-level craft filtered through a lens of punk exuberance and high-gloss glamour clothes that demand to be seen, heard, and remembered.
