At the Telecom Center Building in Tokyo, HARUNOBUMARATA unveiled its Spring Summer 2026 collection under the poetic theme “Your Silent Waterfall”. The presentation traced the delicate conversation between people and nature, capturing the fleeting beauty of clear water, mist, and cascading streams while grounding it in refined, wearable design.

The runway space, filled with drifting smoke, evoked the sensation of walking through fog – a dreamlike overture to a collection rooted in atmosphere and motion. The opening look, a weightless organza dress, distilled the show’s essence: fifty layers of fabric painstakingly hand-removed to create a dissolving gradient, as if the garment itself were melting into mist.

Each piece froze water’s many states into tangible form. Dresses trimmed with long, irregular fringe suggested splashes suspended mid-air, while ripple-textured viscose sets shifted like liquid with each step. Floor-grazing fringe tops recalled streams winding between rocks, and sheer organza layers shimmered like refracted light on moving surfaces.

The palette of pastel blues, soft pinks, pale yellows, fresh greens, and ethereal whites mirrored the luminous spectrum of natural light. Subtle gradients and translucent finishes reinforced the illusion of water seen in flux, garments transforming in motion like shifting rivers.

In a gentle departure, denim entered the HARUNOBUMARATA vocabulary for the first time, carrying with it a new sense of grounded ease. A standout denim skirt, hand-smocked for over 20 hours before undergoing an intensive wash, embodied the collection’s fusion of craftsmanship and natural imperfection. These pieces, tactile yet delicate, extended the narrative of fluidity into unexpected territory.

With “Your Silent Waterfall”, Harunobu Murata offered an interpretation of modern femininity that is both serene and strong – an urban elegance shaped by the quiet power of nature’s flow.
