PatBo SS26 Collection: A Brazilian Garden in Bloom
At New York Fashion Week, Patricia Bonaldi brought her Brazilian roots to life with PatBo’s Spring Summer 2026 collection, a jubilant 38-look celebration of florals, volume, and hand-finished craft. Presented at Hudson Yards, the show opened with an actual floral scent in the air, foreshadowing a runway layered with blossoms, both printed and three-dimensional. Strapless minis, sculpted bra tops, and sweeping gowns carried the floral motif, grounding the collection’s exuberance in a clear seasonal narrative.
Textiles moved between airiness and structure: featherlight chiffons billowed freely while more sculptural fabrics built dramatic peplum maxi dresses and bubble silhouettes. Fringe emerged as both decoration and rhythm, trailing from skirts in kinetic waves that shimmered under the lights. Nods to 1980s glamourpuffed sleeves, cocoon backs, and bold volume were updated through refined seams and modern shaping, ensuring they read as crafted sophistication rather than costume. PatBo’s signature beadwork and embroidery anchored the collection, with dense embellishments transforming bodices and panels into luminous focal points.
Coloration sustained the celebratory mood: lush tropical hues and saturated botanicals mixed with pastels and jolts of neon, while accessories—oversized gemstone earrings, chunky bangles, and chain belts slung low – added sparkle and theatre. Even the simplest look, a white tank embroidered with “Latina,” resonated as a direct and personal statement within the collection’s exuberant world.
Proportions played a central role. Cropped tops met sweeping skirts, mini hemlines clashed with maximal volumes, and high-waisted tailoring balanced low-slung belts. This interplay of scale kept the lineup dynamic, while careful construction preserved wearability within its maximal gestures. Hair and makeup stayed sunlit and polished, allowing the garments to command full attention.
The result was unmistakably PatBo: joyous ornament, artisanal precision, and an unapologetic embrace of volume and color. In translating heritage into modern fêtewear, Patricia Bonaldi reaffirmed her design DNA, a vision of craft as celebration and of fashion as an exuberant extension of cultural identity.
