At Shibuya Hikarie during Tokyo Fashion Week, Seivson unveiled its Spring/Summer 2026 collection, Afterlight, a hauntingly beautiful meditation on resilience, fragility, and the body as a vessel of memory. Under the vision of Taiwanese designer Tzu Chin Shen, the show became less a fashion presentation than a layered narrative of rupture, survival, and renewal, drawing upon Taiwan’s own history of transformation.

The collection deconstructed the female form with startling intimacy. Fabrics were unraveled to their very threads and reconstructed into veins, bones, and rhythms that mapped both strength and vulnerability. The standout red knit dress embodied this ethos: hand-knotted and unraveled to resemble an anatomical tracing, it exposed what is often hidden, suggesting both endurance and the passage of time. It pulsed with vitality, like a body alive with its scars.

Transparency played a central role in Shen’s storytelling. Sheer camisole dresses, openwork knits, and fur-sheer hybrids revealed the skin beneath, treating it as a living archive. These pieces positioned the female body as both fragile and invincible, a canvas inscribed with history. A voluminous pleated blouson jacket, made from Taiwanese polyester washed to create random textures, echoed wrinkles and scar imperfections reimagined as beauty.

The details carried symbolic weight. Striped shorts draped in tulle, skirts with deliberate tears, and frayed edges that curled upward turned damage into allure. Each imperfection was a declaration of sensuality and survival, redefined as strength rather than flaw. Shen’s garments embodied the paradox of softness and defiance, balancing intimacy with provocation.

Collaborations expanded the vision. Hats by CA4LA featured Seivson’s signature screw motif, while chunky shoes by SUBU grounded the looks in functional boldness. These partnerships extended Seivson’s dialogue outward, bridging Japan and Taiwan while amplifying its global resonance.
