BLACKMEANS Spring Summer 2026 Collection : The Evolution of Japanese Punk Luxury
BLACKMEANS Spring/Summer 2026 fuses avant-garde design with Japanese simplicity and hardcore punk culture.
Founded in 2008 by Yujiro Komatsu and Akitomo Ariga, BLACKMEANS first emerged from a Tokyo-based production team established in 2005 alongside Masatomo Ariga. The team managed a leather clothing sewing factory in Gifu Prefecture, initially handling OEM orders before evolving into the independent label we know today.
Launched during the Autumn/Winter 2008 season as a leather brand, BLACKMEANS explores the intersection of Japanese hardcore punk and post-anarchism, crafting an aesthetic that balances the raw and the refined, blending barbaric beauty with avant-garde sophistication.
The brand’s strength lies in its seamless fusion of diverse inspirations: punk, tribal, and motorcycle subcultures intertwined with high fashion influences. Each collection reflects a free-spirited, rebellious energy, merging craftsmanship, individuality, and an unrestrained creative vision.
