Manish Malhotra SS26 Haute Couture Collection: Inaya and the Global Language of Indian Opulence
Manish Malhotra delivered a luminous and culturally charged finale to Dubai Fashion Week with his Spring/Summer 2026 Haute Couture collection, The India Story: Inaya 2026, presented on February 6 at the Dubai Design District. The showcase unfolded as a confident statement of modern Indian couture, where time-honoured craftsmanship was translated into a globally fluent runway narrative, reaffirming Malhotra’s position as a bridge between heritage and international glamour.
The presentation reached its crescendo with Bollywood star Kriti Sanon, who made her international runway debut as the showstopper. She closed the show in an ivory two-piece ensemble that distilled the essence of Malhotra’s couture language: a pearl- and diamond-encrusted bustier paired with a fluid, layered skirt composed of cascading pearl strands that shimmered with movement. A sheer dupatta adorned with pearl tassels added softness, while emerald and diamond jewellery introduced a regal contrast, completing a look that balanced ceremonial richness with contemporary ease.
This final moment encapsulated the collection’s broader dialogue between tradition and modernity. Throughout the runway, Malhotra presented sequined, brocade, and intricately embellished silhouettes that echoed India’s long-standing textile and surface-design traditions, reimagined through refined proportions suited to both bridal contexts and international red-carpet moments. The craftsmanship, rooted in meticulous beading, pearl work, and ornate textures, remained the central protagonist, elevated by silhouettes that felt purposeful rather than archival.
The atmosphere of the show leaned into celebration rather than introspection. Set to the playful retro rhythm of Ramba Ho Ho Ho during the finale, the presentation embraced a sense of joy and spectacle, underscoring couture as an expression of vitality as much as virtuosity. While the collection stayed within the familiar opulent codes associated with Malhotra’s aesthetic, Inaya 2026 projected assurance rather than repetition.
By framing Indian couture through an international lens and anchoring it in both cultural narrative and contemporary styling, Manish Malhotra reaffirmed the global relevance of his vision. Spring/Summer 2026 emerged as a polished testament to couture’s ability to transcend borders, celebratory, expressive, and rooted in a heritage that continues to evolve with confidence.
