Sumi on Growth, Beauty & Self-Worth
Over the years, your journey has inspired so many people globally. What do you think the word “healing” means to you now as a woman?
For me, healing meant moving from a phase of hiding from the world into a phase where I use light as my canvas. As an albino woman, light was something I used to enjoy only in the shadows. Today, healing to me means embracing my own vulnerability and transforming that quiet, mystical energy into art that inspires others.

Spring is often associated with renewal and growth. What parts of yourself are currently blooming in this season of your life?
Right now, a phase of transition and courage is blooming within me. With new chapters unfolding in both my life and career, I feel my creative maturity awakening. It is a conscious evolution from a young girl who used to daydream into a woman who turns her dreams, whether they're digital content creation, business, or art, into reality

You’ve spoken before about embracing uniqueness. Has your definition of beauty changed as you’ve grown emotionally and spiritually?
Absolutely. There was a time when beauty was defined by what we see in the mirror or through a lens. Today, beauty to me is authenticity and energy. My white hair and light eyes are my aesthetic, but my beauty comes from the peace I found within myself and the depth I bring to every photograph. The most beautiful people are those who carry an untold story in their eyes.

In a world filled with pressure, comparison, and negativity online, how do you personally protect your peace and remain positive?
The internet and social media are my job and a space for creativity, but I choose what I let into my space. I protect my peace by consciously drawing a line between the digital world and real life. When the cameras turn off, I am in my own peace, surrounded by silence and things that fulfill me. I maintain positivity by focusing on creating, making, and art in all its forms, rather than comparing myself to others

Many women struggle with self-worth in silence. What advice would you give to women learning how to love themselves again after difficult experiences?
I would tell them to be gentle with themselves and to give themselves time. Relearning to love yourself doesn't happen overnight. It’s a process that resembles nature restoring itself after a long winter. Find that one, unique spark inside you that makes you different and nurture it. Your worth does not depend on how others see you, nor on the difficult experiences you've been through. You are your own temple

Your energy often feels very soft, mystical, and calming. What are some daily rituals or habits that help you stay grounded and motivated?
My routines are very simple but deeply healing for me. Morning silence, a warm cup of tea, and those moments when I take a pencil or brush in my hand to draw. Drawing is my space of absolute freedom, where I pour all my thoughts and emotions into lines and shapes. I love aesthetically beautiful, calming spaces that remind me of Japanese minimalism. Those moments of isolation and visual creation before stepping into the chaos of a modern day help me maintain my soft yet stable energy

If you could create one empowering message for young girls around the world to carry with them forever, what would it be?
What makes you different is your greatest strength, not your flaw. Do not try to fit into the moulds that the world created for you. Be proud of your uniqueness, wear it like a crown, and remember that your gentleness has the power to change the world

Fashion and beauty can sometimes feel superficial. How do you make sure your work still reflects authenticity, depth, and emotion?
Fashion can only be superficial if you allow it to be just clothing. For me, every photoshoot, whether it's a gothic editorial, dark academia, or a vintage Rococo style, is actually storytelling. I don't just pose to showcase a dress; I project emotion, a character from a fairytale, or mythology through the lens. When you bring an artistic concept and a piece of your soul into your work, superficiality disappears

What kind of women inspire you the most today, and how have those inspirations shaped your own journey?
I am most inspired by women who are simultaneously incredibly gentle and fiercely strong. Those who aren't afraid to show their vulnerability and who emerged from their toughest battles as artists, leaders, and creators of their own destiny. They taught me that I don't have to be loud to be heard; my silence and my work can speak for them.

When people look at Sumi now, beyond the modelling and photographs, what do you hope they truly see and feel?
I hope they see freedom. I want them to look at my aesthetic and my journey and feel that it’s okay to be different, okay to be yourself. I would love for them to feel peace, a touch of magic in everyday life, and the inspiration to embrace their own uniqueness without fear or hesitation.
