Armarium SS27 Collection: The Elegance of Controlled Release
Armarium’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection, Control/Release, explores the space between discipline and desire, translating a feeling into a wardrobe of precise tailoring, fluid silhouettes, and understated sensuality. For Giorgia Gabriele, the starting point was the distinctive women captured through the lens of Helmut Newton, drawing on the instinctive sensuality of Bianca Jagger and the measured reserve of Charlotte Rampling. Together, they inform a woman who can inhabit strength and softness, masculinity and femininity, without being defined by either.
That duality becomes a study in material and construction. Armarium lightens its tailoring through a remarkably fine 220-gram stretch wool, creating silhouettes that retain their elongated precision while feeling almost weightless. A sharply cut white suit, a cropped black jacket paired with low-slung trousers, and an oversized white shirt secured with double-buckle belts demonstrate this softened approach. Even traditional tailoring details are reconsidered, with pocket-inspired welt constructions replacing conventional buttonholes.
Leather is equally transformed. Glove-soft nappa, previously concentrated in the accessories offering, moves into dresses and outerwear, including a skirt combining nappa with grey mélange jersey. The contrast between the two materials creates an intriguing balance of structure and softness, extending Gabriele’s exploration of how opposing textures can coexist within a single garment.
Sensuality remains deliberately restrained. Double silk satin and weightless viscose crêpe shape dresses with open backs and raw edges, while compact knitwear loosens into openwork constructions that reveal glimpses of skin without becoming fully sheer. Fur-stitch embroidery at the hems adds tactile definition, allowing the body to remain suggested rather than exposed.
Black and white establish the collection’s disciplined foundation, interrupted by decisive flashes of red that signal confidence and strength. Accessories continue to evolve as part of an expanding wardrobe rather than a seasonal reset, with returning jewellery joined by new T-bar shoes and a sharper interpretation of the Evelina pump with a 9.5-centimetre heel.
With Control/Release, Armarium proposes a sophisticated balance between restraint and freedom. As the brand prepares to open its first Milan store this autumn, the collection marks another confident step in Gabriele’s vision of modern luxury that is precise, sensual, and quietly powerful.
