Exclusive Report: Mai Davika Wears Miss Sohee Couture at BIFF 2026 for “Inherit”
An exclusive OTS Magazine UK fashion and culture report, produced in collaboration with our international media partner INSTYLEASIA, from the 31st Busan International Film Festival.
Thai actress Mai Davika Hoorne brought couture glamour to the red carpet at the 31st Busan International Film Festival, appearing in support of her latest film, Inherit. For the festival's closing celebrations on 15 October 2026, the actress wore a striking couture look by London- and Paris-based designer Miss Sohee, combining a sculptural white draped silhouette with a black embroidered bodice.
In an exclusive report, we look at the red-carpet appearance that brought Thai cinema, international couture, and one of the festival's anticipated horror titles into focus.
Couture with a Dramatic Silhouette
The look made its statement through contrast. An intricately embroidered black bodice provided structure, while voluminous ivory-white draping framed the silhouette and flowed into a soft, floor-length finish. The combination of rich detailing, sculptural volume, and delicate jewellery gave the ensemble a distinctive presence on the red carpet.
The design reflects the visual drama associated with couture, allowing craftsmanship and silhouette to take centre stage. Against the festival's red carpet, the contrast between black, white, and the gown's subtle sheen made for a memorable fashion moment.
Representing Thai Cinema Through Inherit
Davika attended alongside director Banjong Pisanthanakun and co-star Thitiya Jirapornsilp, known as Baipor, representing Inherit at BIFF 2026.
Directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun, the Thai horror film follows a family reunion that gradually gives way to unsettling secrets and a terrifying inherited legacy. Davika plays Woranat, a mysterious matriarch whose return sets the story's disturbing events in motion. The film was included in BIFF's 2026 programme.
A Moment for Thai Talent on the International Stage
Beyond the red carpet, the appearance highlighted the international reach of Thai film and its talent. With Davika joined by her director and co-star, the occasion brought the people behind Inherit together at one of Asia's major film festivals.
For OTS Magazine UK, in collaboration with INSTYLEASIA, the moment offered two connected editorial perspectives: the artistry of couture and the growing visibility of Thai cinema in international film conversations.
As the 31st Busan International Film Festival concluded its ten-day program on 15 October, Mai Davika's appearance offered a fitting final fashion highlight, one where the details of the gown and the film it represented shared the spotlight.
ABOUT THE BRAND: MISS SOHEE
Where contemporary innovation meets the soul of Korean heritage, London-based couturier Sohee Park, the visionary mind behind MISS SOHEE is redefining the boundaries of modern high fashion.
Every silhouette tells a story. Driven by a lifelong fascination with antiques and natural objects, Park weaves nostalgia directly into the structural poetry of her collections. But it’s the narrative world of traditional Korean "Minhwa paintings" and romantic motifs that truly breathes life into her designs and transmutes into the intricate embroidery and palette that feels both traditional and modern.
At MISS SOHEE, garments are not merely clothes; they are emotional bridges, meticulously handcrafted masterpieces that spark an artistic dialogue between the designer's vision and the wearer. By viewing history through an uncompromisingly contemporary style, Park reminds us that true craftsmanship never fades, inspiring it globally.
