The Face Issue: Lifestyle Tips On How To Achieve A Gorgeous Skin Glow and Picture Perfect Selfie.

by - 11:04:00

The world of social media is changing and everyone is going crazy about the idea of having "The Perfect Selfie", "The flawless finish" when it comes to make up, or having a gorgeous "Summer Glow", If you are like me, and you look at your photo gallery I am sure you will be looking at loads of un-uploaded selfies either due to the fact you thought they were not social media worthy or something was off about it, or you noticed those dry lips, grumpy open or clogged pores on your face, and pinched yourself for forgetting to exfoliate.
" I know sis, don't beat yourself up, I have been there millions of times even as a beauty expert, I too forget to follow through with my beauty regimen due to busy life and just want to lay down and sleep (I however never go to bed with my make up on though) " - Laura (Beauty Contributor)
On to it then, I will start off with some beauty tips:
When it comes to beauty, many of us form bad habits because realistically, very few of us actually know what we’re doing when it comes to applying makeup (unless you grew up with a makeup artist or skincare expert, in which case this doesn’t really apply to you so please don't laugh at us). Thankfully lately the world is filled with loads of beauty bloggers and vloggers sharing their tips and tricks on social media, this has enabled newbies to easily apply makeup. However, before we talk about the application of makeup there is a step we must never skip, trust me I had to learn from my past mistakes.
Do you really know your skin type?
Knowing your true skin type can help the next time you’re in the beauty and cosmetics aisle. Do you know that using the wrong products or Internet hacks for your skin type could worsen acne, dryness, or other skin problems? Once you know your skin well, you will be able to take care of it better and achieve a flawless finish/glow.
Hydration: Staying hydrated is very important, things like skin dullness, fine lines, and even lack of firmness, you can improve all these skin issues by making sure your skin is well hydrated. This goes for all skin types – even us oily skin folks. It’s important to hydrate our skin from within, so make sure you drink enough water – about 7 to 8 glasses a day. What I personally do, is keep a large water bottle with me at all times this way I don't forget to drink water.
Next stop - Facials.
A daily skincare routine has four basic steps you can do once in the morning and once before you sleep.
Any good skincare routine starts by cleansing. Even though a lot of people think you don’t need to cleanse in the morning, guess what? you do! If you don’t have much time, use a cotton pad soaked in micellar water or rose water.
Cleansing: Choose a cleanser that doesn’t leave your skin tight after washing. Clean your face no more than twice a day, or just once, if you have dry skin and don’t wear makeup. Avoid washing for that squeaky-clean feeling because that means your skin’s natural oils are gone.

Exfoliate:
According to Beauty Expert and Lifestyle Blogger -Linda B, Exfoliating is good because by removing the outer layer of dead skin cells, exfoliation can make skin look and feel better and help improve some skin conditions, Monat's Berry Refined Scrub is something I have been using recently and I love it because it is fun and easy to use the facial scrub mask, It also buffs away dull skin to reveal a smoother, softer, more even-toned glow that’s sure to brighten you up.
Repair
Beauty and Skincare Blogger Jenny says;
Nothing offers a surge of moisture and skin goodness like a sheet mask. Usually, I use brightening sheet masks, but for my SOS routine, I’ll switch to a moisturizing one like the My Beauty Diary Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Mask. My skin definitely feels hydrated and nourished after each use.
Toners
I Tone my skin with Rose Water, and it leaves my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated, this step is often missed but it is important because it picks up any dirt missed when cleansing and refreshes and calms the skin, maintains PH level, and prepares it for your moisturizing cream.
Moisturize
Beauty Editor Victoria says; I use Vitamin C Brightening Cream By Neutriherbs. I am very picky with the products I use on my skin as it's very sensitive, so I am sharing it with you, Always cleanse with clean hands, ensure your hair is away from your face and use a fresh towel to pat your skin dry.
Lastly, I use a Serum on my facial sometimes before or after my Routine Facial Treatment at home, I also use it while applying makeup, I do love using Vitamin C Serums.

Insider tip: Apply masks after serum but before moisturizer, unless it’s a leave-on overnight mask, which can take the place of your nighttime moisturizer. Like any product that supplements your regular routine, masks should be used in moderation — no more than once a week to prevent any irritation, Dr.  Zeichner says.
Also, Use shimmery lotion to boost the glow effect.
Now let's talk about that Perfect Selfie:
