This exhibition, which is being organised by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of LOEWE, traces the history of the brand from its beginnings as a Madrid-based leather-making collective in 1846 to its current position as a pioneer in luxury fashion worldwide.

After 178 years in business, "Crafted World" highlights key moments in the brand's history, such as its function as a supplier to the Spanish Royal Crown, its incorporation into the LVMH group, the founding of the LOEWE Foundation, the opening of the company's first location in China in 2001, and its revitalization under Jonathan Anderson's direction, which included the establishment of the LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize.

"Crafted World," which takes up 1,600 square metres at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre, promises to be an interesting look at materials, artisanal techniques, time, and place. In addition to showcasing the house's creative partnerships and designs, visitors will find an interactive area that provides a more comprehensive sensory experience.

Emphasising the value of handcrafted creativity, the show will include a diverse range of worldwide craftspeople, each contributing to the story, from South African basket weavers and Chinese bamboo craftsmen to Indian ribbon weavers and Ecuadorian tapestry makers.
