Louis Vuitton x Murakami SS25: A Joyful Farewell with Zendaya
For Spring/Summer 2025, Louis Vuitton revisits one of its most iconic collaborations with a radiant final chapter that celebrates 20 years of creative synergy between the House and legendary Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. The campaign marks the culmination of their re-edition series, bringing back a beloved motif — the playful and irreverent Cherry — with renewed vibrancy and contemporary flair.
Starring global ambassador Zendaya, the campaign is a dreamy visual homage, captured through the surreal and refined lens of Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Set against a sun-drenched Mediterranean backdrop, Zendaya strikes a balance between timeless elegance and youthful exuberance, posing among towering, sculptural cherries that blur the line between fantasy and fashion.
The SS25 Murakami Cherry Collection reinterprets the 2000s pop-art aesthetic for a new generation. With over 70 pieces spanning leather goods, ready-to-wear, footwear, and accessories, the collection balances nostalgia with innovation. Murakami’s gleeful cherry characters, rendered using cutting-edge 3D-printing and serigraphy techniques, burst across classic silhouettes — including the Speedy, Alma, and Side Trunk — now offered in both Monogram canvas and a crisp new white base that amplifies the vibrant artwork.
Adding depth and texture, a denim capsule embroidered with cherries offers a playful take on summer dressing, while lifestyle touches — like branded fans, deck chairs, and silk scarves — evoke a spirit of sun-soaked leisure.
Footwear gets a whimsical upgrade, too: from Monogram denim ballerinas and cherry-detailed sneakers, to the jaw-dropping debut of a 3D Cherry heel on raffia Cherie mules and denim Lily sandals. The result? Summer staples reimagined through a lens of artistry and fun.
Accessories complete the picture — silk squares, jewelry, and collectible bag charms double as wearable pop art, radiating joy and storytelling in every detail.
With Zendaya’s charismatic presence anchoring the visuals and Murakami’s whimsical vision revitalized in every frame, Louis Vuitton bids farewell to one of fashion’s most beloved collaborations. This final act is not only a celebration of artistic partnership and craftsmanship, but a reminder of fashion’s enduring power to delight, surprise, and inspire.
