Kettel Atelier SS26 Collection: Unraveling the Self Through Fabric and Feeling
At Copenhagen Fashion Week SS26, Kettel Atelier redefined what it means to present a collection—not through spectacle, but through soul. Titled “Unravel,” the Spring Summer 2026 presentation unfolded as a two-hour multi-sensory journey on the fourth floor of Daydream Studio, where fashion dissolved into performance, art, scent, and sound.
Guests entered a space layered with intention: raw concrete floors softened by vintage lace, walls alive with the brushstrokes of painter @billewho, and corners punctuated by repurposed furniture from Warm Nordic, now dressed in Kettel’s leftover textiles. Every element was in dialogue—a shared breath between garment and environment, creator and witness.
The collection itself was a living archive of stories. Pieced together from aged linens, discarded trims, vintage florals, and forgotten lace, each look carried whispers of the past, yet stood firmly in the now. There was asymmetry, unraveling hems, purposeful distressing—but never chaos. Kettel’s designer wove emotion through every thread, creating garments that felt like memory made tangible.
The silhouettes? Loose, romantic, and unguarded. Think prairie meets atelier: soft corsetry paired with workwear stitching, airy dresses layered over undone trousers, and hand-patched blouses with tales hidden in their seams. It was less about polish, more about presence—an ode to imperfection as beauty, and to healing as process.
Outside, Copenhagen’s cool breeze carried the scent of matcha brewed by @thematchabike, while 1664 Blanc flowed freely—turning the event’s threshold into a gathering point for street style watchers, creatives, and kindred spirits. There was no pressure to perform—only to feel.
“Unravel” was less a collection and more an offering. A vulnerable invitation to pause, reflect, and remember that fashion can be soft, slow, and sacred. It reminded us that sustainability isn’t a buzzword—it’s a ritual, stitched through with care, history, and the courage to remake what’s been left behind.
With this intimate and emotionally charged presentation, Kettel Atelier reminded Copenhagen—and the fashion world at large—that the most powerful garments aren’t just worn. They are felt.
