At the atmospheric Jiyu Gakuen Myonakan in Ikebukuro, Yueqi Qi unveiled her Fall/Winter 2026–2027 collection for Yueqi Qi during Tokyo Fashion Week. Titled ROSA, the show unfolded as a richly textured meditation on romance, memory, and craft, drawing inspiration from the nostalgic intimacy of a traditional ryokan adorned with roses.

At the heart of the collection lies Qi’s signature devotion to intricate craftsmanship. Beadwork, meticulously arranged into delicate rose motifs, formed the foundation of many looks, transforming sweatshirts and tops into surfaces that shimmer like finely jeweled textiles. This interplay between ornate embellishment and casual silhouettes encapsulated the designer’s distinctive ability to merge contemporary streetwear with artisanal tradition.

Knitwear emerged as a key area of innovation. Laser-cut techniques reimagined dense knits into lace-like constructions, revealing glimpses of skin beneath structured surfaces. The effect was both precise and sensual, lending dresses and tops an ethereal lightness while maintaining a tactile presence. Elsewhere, satin camisoles and fluid dresses adorned with rose patterns evoked the faded elegance of vintage interiors, drapery, upholstery, and wallpaper reinterpreted through a modern, fashion-forward lens.

Silhouette played an equally expressive role. The collection favoured abbreviated proportions, with beaded mini dresses and skirts offering a youthful, almost playful energy. These were offset by puff-sleeved blouses and sculptural capes that introduced volume and drama. Longer pieces, with sweeping hems and subtle heart-shaped embellishments, grounded the collection, providing a sense of balance and continuity.

Accessories and footwear extended the narrative. A collaboration with Timberland introduced boots reimagined through laser-cut detailing, softening the label’s rugged identity with a more decorative sensibility. A second partnership with Ground delivered sculptural sneakers that bridged functionality and avant-garde design. Jewellery from POP MART’s line popop, featuring crowns, earrings, and rings adorned with lace and beadwork, added a final layer of romantic ornamentation.
