Dice Kayek SS27 Collection: A Japanese-Inspired Reverie in Colour and Form
For Spring/Summer 2027, Dice Kayek enters a more vibrant and expressive chapter, as designer Ece Ege reimagines the house’s signature sculptural elegance through a garden-inspired spectrum of colour. Sakura blossoms unfurl across pink and red prints, complemented by citrus yellow, vivid orange, blue, and grass green. Drawing on Ege’s enduring fascination with Japanese architecture, gardens, and artisanal traditions, the collection evokes a sense of tranquillity while embracing a renewed spirit of exuberance.
Beneath the vivid palette lies the architectural precision that defines the label. Cherry-blossom motifs are rendered across silk-cotton voile and silk georgette, flowing into pleated skirts and dresses that balance delicacy with structure. Yellow Mikado lends a crisp, sculptural quality to sharply defined waistlines, while voluminous sleeves and asymmetric draping introduce fluidity and movement. Even the classic menswear-inspired shirt is reconsidered, with intricate ruching cascading from the neckline down the back to create an unexpected sense of dimension.
Bows emerge as a recurring design language, subtly referencing the wrapped forms of the kimono sash. From oversized statement accents to softer, draped interpretations, these details gather and secure the fabric into sculptural silhouettes that contour and elevate the body. Elsewhere, crystal fringe adorns a signature shirt, bringing a glimmering finish to the interplay between disciplined tailoring and decorative flourish.
Although shades such as bubblegum pink lend the collection a distinctly feminine sensibility, the mood remains far removed from saccharine romance. A vivid yellow asymmetric dress, in particular, captures its confident modernity, balancing bold colour with considered construction. Youthful, spirited, and meticulously composed, Dice Kayek Spring/Summer 2027 demonstrates Ege’s ability to push familiar codes into a more expressive territory, where intricate craftsmanship meets an ease that feels entirely contemporary.
