Petar Petrov SS27 Collection: The Poetry of Lightness
Petar Petrov’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection, presented through a Paris Fashion Week lookbook, explores lightness as both a physical quality and a state of mind. Created in Vienna against the backdrop of an intense summer heatwave, the collection responds to a climate of unease with clothing designed to create space, movement, and a sense of calm. Kimono-inspired cuts, generous wrapping, and long, fluid streamers allow fabric to drift around the body rather than restrict it.
At the centre of the collection is a softly feminine yellow dress designed to be slipped on with the ease of a T-shirt, capturing Petrov’s vision of effortless dressing. His affinity for the clean lines of the 1990s is evident throughout, from languid jersey polos to long, narrow skirts in weighty silk blends, creating quiet proportions in which softness takes precedence.
Leather provides a contrasting note of structure, appearing in a raw-edged bonded blazer and a sweeping trench that brings definition to the collection’s otherwise airy spirit. The brand’s characteristic dialogue between masculine and feminine also remains essential, expressed through a tuxedo shirt inspired by one worn by a friend, precisely reworked luxury T-shirts, and fine striped linen-cashmere-silk layers styled over matching long-sleeved pieces.
Beneath the collection’s relaxed silhouettes lies a more contemplative idea: the desire to portray women in a moment of stillness and self-possession. At a time marked by constant disruption, Petrov offers fashion as a quiet refuge, proposing a wardrobe that feels composed, weightless, and deeply attuned to the woman wearing it.
