Samuel Guè Yang triumphantly returned to the runway at Shanghai Fashion Week with his Autumn Winter 2024–2025 collection, exhibiting his unique fusion of East and West, following a break from the catwalk since July of 2022. The location, a historically significant house in the Shikumen architecture, provided Yang with the ideal setting for his investigation of modernism and cultural fusion.

Yang was inspired by the rich tapestry of Chinese heritage, especially the well-known book "Dream of the Red Chamber" by Cao Xueqin. Yang is renowned for his ability to blend Eastern and Western ideas flawlessly. The 18th-century literary masterwork served as the collection's thematic basis. Yang characterised it as a "sino-aesthetic that resists singularity."
