When You Feel Emotionally Exhausted: A Gentle Reminder That You Don't Have to Have It All Together

Dear Reader,

Welcome back to our intentional corner, a little space to dwell, pause, and breathe.

After reading some of your feedback, we decided it was time to bring LB’s Lifestyle Corner back. Perhaps because the world has gotten heavier lately, denser, or, should I say, more unfiltered.
When You Feel Emotionally Exhausted: A Gentle Reminder That You Don't Have to Have It All Together
Sometimes, simply being your real and authentic self can be perceived as an insult. You can find yourself having to explain yourself, justify your feelings, or even apologise for taking a step back simply because you needed to protect your own mental and emotional space.

And honestly, it can be exhausting.

Have you ever felt fed up with trying to have it all together? Trying to look as though you have everything figured out, while inside you are withering away, fading, exhausted, and completely drained?

Yet somehow, you still have to put on a brave face. Smile. Show up. Be there for everyone else.

And then, when you finally try to talk about what you're going through, you realise that not everyone wants to listen.

You become the person everyone runs to when they need somewhere to put their emotions, yet when you need somewhere to put yours, the room can suddenly feel very quiet.

Yes, I see you nodding. I know it doesn't feel fair.

I don't want to simply say “life isn't fair” and leave it there, because sometimes life really isn't fair. But perhaps it is during these difficult seasons that we discover a strength within ourselves that we didn't know we had, the strength to keep going, to keep choosing ourselves, and to keep fighting for the version of us that will one day look back and realize it was all worth it.

But truth be told, you don't have to be perfect.

You don't have to have it all together.

You don't have to rush.

And you certainly don't have to do things simply so someone else can clap for you.

As long as you are clapping for yourself, that is enough.

So many of us spend our lives showing up for other people that we slowly forget how to show up for ourselves. We become so accustomed to giving love, time, energy, and understanding that we can barely remember the last time we woke up and did something simply because we wanted to.

Maybe that time starts now.

Prioritise yourself.

Give yourself the same love you so freely give to everyone else.

And yes, self-love isn't always as easy as it sounds when you've spent a long time giving pieces of yourself away. You don't suddenly wake up one morning and feel completely healed, confident, and at peace.

You start slowly.

Baby steps.

If you can wake up tomorrow and choose to do just one small thing for yourself, that's enough.

Maybe it's simply touching grass, as Gen Z would say. Put your feet down on the earth. Take a deep breath. Inhale. Exhale.

And for a moment, just be grateful that you opened your eyes this morning.

That's enough.

The next day, perhaps light a candle. Make yourself a cup of something warm. Run a soft, comforting bath. Add your favourite bath oil or soak. Put your phone somewhere else. Close your eyes for a few minutes and allow yourself to imagine what you want your days to feel like.

It doesn't happen overnight. But little things, repeated with intention, can slowly become a way of caring for yourself again.

So if you've been feeling emotionally exhausted lately, please remember this:

You don't have to have it all together.

You are allowed to pause.

You are allowed to rest.

You are allowed to say no.

You are allowed to step away.

You are allowed to begin again.

And most importantly, you are allowed to choose yourself without feeling guilty for it.

One day. One breath. One small step at a time.

If this post helped you in any way, don't forget to share it. By sharing, you help us, you encourage us, and you tell us that these little conversations still matter.

And perhaps, slowly, we can begin diving deeper into the things that so many people experience quietly, the things we don't always talk about but perhaps all need to hear.

Sending you all good vibes, gentle energy, and a little reminder that you are doing better than you think.

With love,
LB
